Flyers SYTHL Champs!

Squirt Flyers SYTHL Champs!

The 2012-2013 Squirt Nashville Flyers skated their way to victory last weekend, being the undefeated champions of the Southern Youth Travel Hockey League (SYTHL) A-2 Division.  Lead by Head Coach Daniel Brown and assisted by Ray Caffrey and Ted Lauer, the Squirts battled hard all weekend to bring home the cup.  Next fall, thier Championship Banner will be raised at Centennial Sportsplex.

The Pee Wee and Bantam Flyers teams both came in 3rd in their respective divisions, with hard fought games and challenging seasons.  The Pee Wees, lead by Head Coach Frank Wright and Bantams, lead by Head Coach Alan Swart, gave everything they had to secure thier spot in the rough and tumble A-2 Division of the SYTHL.

One weekend earlier, the Bantam Flyers brought home the Champion's trophy from the 2013 Big Bear Gasoline Alley Tournament in Indianapolis.  Holding off tough teams such as Affton Americans, Bloomington Thunder, Columbus Capitals and Fishers Falcons, the Bantam Flyers went 4-0-1 for the weekend.

The Flyers take the ice one last time this weekend, appearing in the 23rd Annual Country & Western Showndown.  Appearing along side the Flyers will be the NYHL House All Stars and nearly 40 teams from around the United States.  If you have time, come down and support the Flyers and All Stars.

As a reminder, there will be no house games or practices for any divisions this weekend (March 1, 2 or 3) due to the C&W Tournament.

Congratulations again to the Squirt Flyers for winning the SYTHL Championship!
